Precious - Grand Rapids Community College
Precious Young was working as a CNC Operator and was feeling stuck. She thinks of herself as the type of person who likes to progress and move up. With a knack for technical challenges and hands-on work, welding has always been her passion. She looked into gaining welding experience at the local career technical center and realized she had aged out. Then, by luck, she saw the announcement of the Grand Rapids Community College Metallica Scholars program on social media.
“I was feeling like a hamster on a wheel. This training is going to get me off that wheel and really move me toward something I can continue to grow and be proud of.”
