Meet the Grantee: Episode 2 - Lakeview Pantry

In September of 2021, Metallica returned to Metro Chicago for a surprise one-night-only performance. Together, Metro and All Within My Hands pledged $20,000 to help support the efforts of Lakeview Pantry - a community Food Bank that has been serving Chicago’s Lakeview community and surrounding areas for over 50 years.
Today, Lakeview Pantry employs more than 40 staff members, has 5,000 volunteers, and serves residents living throughout Chicago. In addition to home deliveries, Online Market orders, and dozens of community pop-up partnerships, they also provide critical social services, including mental health counseling, job search support, and crisis intervention.
Our Director of Philanthropy, Renee Richardson, sat down with Joe Shanahan (Owner/Founder of Metro Chicago) and Drew Moran (Director of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships at Lakeview Pantry) to discuss how they’re supporting the Chicago community.
