Planet Radio: Metallica donate over £200,000 to Turkey-Syria earthquake relief effort
Metallica have pledged $250,000 (around £207,000) to the humanitarian relief effort following the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
More than 41,000 people are known to have been killed in Turkey and Syria since the catastrophic 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey in the early hours of Monday 6th February, and that figure continues to rise.
Metallica have announced today (15th February) that they have pledged $125,000 each to Direct Relief and World Central Kitchen, who are both providing humanitarian relief and aid on the ground in Turkey and Syria.
