#MetallicaGivesBack Munich: €80,000 Granted to Two Local Organizations

Metallica’s M72 World Tour is back up and running in Europe, and we continue our commitment to contribute a portion of ticket sales to organizations fulfilling vital needs within local communities with support from Live Nation, Deutschland. Thanks to our philanthropic-focused European tour sponsor, Iveco Group, each stop will have twice the impact this year! With the help of fans who attended the No Repeat Weekend at Munich’s Olympiastadion, two organizations, Münchner Tafel and Kältebus München, received support from the AWMH branch of the Metallica Family this week.

Münchner Tafel rescues surplus food supplies and distributes it to people living below the poverty line. Now in its 30th year, a team of over 1000 volunteers distributes roughly 130 tons of food to more than 20,000 people weekly. Twenty trucks are on the road six days per week, reaching more than 800 pick-up points to collect food donations. As a bonus, this fleet is made up of IVECO trucks! On Saturday, the day between the shows, 30 Metallica fans and AWMH supporters donated their time to give out nutritious food to 1,000 people on the day between Metallica shows. We are honored to support Münchner Tafel through both financing and volunteer power. Münchner Tafel is receiving €40,000 along with a matching donation from Iveco Group.
Kältebus München supplies freshly cooked food, drinks, hygiene kits, and camping gear to the unhoused population in the Munich area. Each night, volunteers from the organization travel around the area between 7 PM and 11:30 PM, visiting roughly 80 individuals in their own spaces to deliver these essentials. The mobility of services is just one example of the organization’s mission to show respect and appreciation to all, offering support regardless of age, skin color, origin, religious affiliation, or sexual orientation. Kältebus München is receiving €40,000 along with a matching donation from Iveco Group.
