#MetallicaGivesBack Mexico City: $180,000 Granted to Three Non-Profit Organizations

SEPTEMBER 30, 2024

Metallica wrapped up M72 2024 with a bang with back-to-back weekends in Mexico City! These four shows gave us the opportunity to give back to the local community. With the help of the fans in attendance at Estadio GNP Seguros and OCESA/Live Nation, we committed US$180,000 across three organizations doing great work in Mexico City and beyond: Comedor Santa María AC, Casa Hogar Las Nieves AC, and Casa Gaviota un vuelo sin violencia AC

Comedor Santa María is an Asociación Civil that has been helping vulnerable children living in extreme poverty in Mexico since 1995 by addressing one of their basic needs—feeding. The organization complements its program by teaching universal human values, hoping to guide them toward becoming productive members of society. The Asociación Civil has 34 dining rooms that serve 10,000 children daily. Comedor Santa María is receiving US$60,000.

Casa Hogar Las Nieves is an Asociación Civil that houses 50 young women and girls, most of whom come from the streets of the capital or dysfunctional homes or are victims of violence and abuse. The organization provides the girls it serves with free housing, medical care, food, and education, preparing them to become women capable of facing the future life, with a mature and responsible attitude. Casa Hogar Las Nieves is receiving US$60,000.

Casa Gaviota is an Asociación Civil that uses technology to bring emotional health and comprehensive care to Hispanic women and their families. The organization offers programs that promote peace and prevention of domestic and gender violence and care for women who are victims of violence. Casa Gaviota also consults with business organizations to help create a culture of equality and non-discrimination. Casa Gaviota is receiving US$60,000.
