#MetallicaGivesBack Madrid: €80,000 Granted to Three Local Organizations
JULY 15, 2024
Metallica’s M72 Word Tour stop in Madrid saw the final two shows in Europe for 2024. And it gave us the opportunity to help out in the local community with the support of Live Nation Spain. We selected Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid, Fundación Soñar Despierto, and Fundación ANAR (Ayuda a Niños y Adolescentes en Riesgo) to receive our grants. With Metallica’s tour sponsor, Iveco Group, matching our donation, we know these vital organizations will provide critical resources and support to their communities.
Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid (FBAM) is a private, non-profit, non-denominational, and non-political organization with 30 years of experience and based on volunteering. Its purpose is to raise awareness in society and work to solve the problems derived from hunger, food waste, and the lack of resources to lead a dignified life. FBAM obtains and distributes food free of charge to legally recognized charities that assist people in poverty in the Community of Madrid. The organization fights against food waste by recovering surplus food from agents in the food chain, avoiding its destruction, and taking advantage of those that are fit for consumption, thus promoting the circular economy. Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Madrid is receiving €30,000 along with a matching donation from Iveco Group.
Fundación Soñar Despierto collaborates with children, adolescents, and young people who are growing up or have grown up in shelters, after having been separated from their families as a protective measure. The organization’s goal is to provide them with the same childhood and future opportunities that other children their age have, regardless of their circumstances. In 2021, more than 56,000 minors were served by the protection system in Spain. Of these, more than 16,000 grow up in foster care institutions. Fundación Soñar Despierto’s mission is to accompany and support minors residing in shelters, open centers, and residential centers coming from marginal environments and dysfunctional families, from the moment they enter the center until they reach autonomy. Fundación Soñar Despierto is receiving €30,000 along with a matching donation from Iveco Group.
Fundación ANAR (Ayuda a Niños y Adolescentes en Riesgo) is a non-profit organization that helps children and adolescents at risk. Since 1970, the organization has been dedicated to the promotion and defense of the rights of children and adolescents at risk and in need, through the development of projects both in Spain and in Latin America, within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The foundation’s vision is a world in which all children and adolescents have the right to have their voice heard regarding life situations that affect them, and whenever their rights are violated. Aware that they are the most defenseless people in our society, the goal is a world in which these children and adolescents have their rights fully protected. Fundación ANAR is receiving €20,000 along with a matching donation from Iveco Group.
