#MetallicaGivesBack Chicago: $100,000 Granted to Three Non-Profit Organizations

AUGUST 12, 2024

Metallica’s M72 World Tour stop in Chicago gave us the opportunity to give back to the local community. With the help of the fans in attendance at Soldier Field, we committed $100,000 to three organizations doing great work in Chicago and beyond, Neighborhood Food Pantries, Margaret’s Village, and Support+Feed

Neighborhood Food Pantries works to improve the health and well-being of its neighbors by providing reliable access to nutritious food in welcoming environments through the generosity of volunteers, individuals, and community partnerships. The organization is committed to providing interruption-free services and treating all guests with dignity and respect. The food pantry also facilitates guest self-sufficiency through special on-site events and a network of agency referrals for education on nutrition, employment, and other life skills. Neighborhood Food Pantry is receiving $40,000.

Margaret’s Village has been serving Chicago since 1974. With 100 beds across two locations, it offers transitional housing for homeless women, children, and families while also providing experiences that empower, mentor, and support women and the broader community so they can achieve their highest potential. When a new resident arrives, the on-site case managers provide holistic and individualized services to support the resident’s goals, and through partner agencies, the organization facilitates job training, coaching, and employment placement. Margaret’s Village is receiving $40,000.

This summer, we’ll also donate to Support+Feed with proceeds from each US tour stop. The donations will help us feed people and inspire us to eat more plant-based foods. Support+Feed is a non-profit organization that combats the climate crisis and fights for food justice by working for a global shift to an equitable plant-based food system. They’ll help us provide plant-based meal deliveries and host volunteer opportunities during Metallica’s Weekend Takeovers. If you’re going to a show, keep an eye out for the in-venue, and be sure to stop in and stay hi! Support+Feed is receiving $20,000.
