$227,000 Raised to Support Workforce Education

Workforce education is an important pillar of our mission, and the funds raised in May will support the thousands of Metallica Scholars in our program.”

Throughout our fifth annual Month of Giving, you raised $227,000 to help us support the future of skilled trades, and the outpouring of support for our Metallica Scholars Initiative blows us away. How did you do it?!
MERCH SALES
A lot of you loved the limited edition AWMH recoloring of Rhys Cooper’s “Wherever I May Roam” design as much as we did! That t-shirt and other qualifying merchandise sales in the Metallica Store raised $72,423 this month.
While the t-shirt was a Month Of Giving exclusive, you can always support AWMH by shopping our collection in the Met Store.
LOCAL CHAPTER FUNDRAISING COMPETITION
The combined efforts of 36 chapters raised $87,602.61 in this year’s competition, with ten chapters pulling in at least four figures in donations!
In the end, MASSter Of Puppets’ lead was too strong. They raised $40,633.46, completing their three-peat as Grand Prize winners! The Sunforgiven, with their $2,484.24 raised, were the lucky winners of the randomly drawn Second Prize.
Metallica Family, you always leave us speechless with your dedication and generosity.
A PICTURE-PERFECT AUCTION
Thanks to legendary rock music photographer Ross Halfin, we featured a beautiful piece of memorabilia in the Month of Giving Auction.
The Metallica-autographed silver foil poster (a replica of Halfin’s Metallica: The Black Album in Black & White cover), accompanied by the hardcover book itself, yielded $4,649 for our Month of Giving campaign!
A SWEEPSTAKES TO CONTINUE THE GIVING THROUGH THE SUMMER
Our fandiem sweepstakes for this autographed ESP Truckster LTD guitar remained open through July 20, but all funds raised continued to benefit the Month of Giving campaign and our Metallica Scholars!
When all was said and done, our final fundraising component raised $33,894 to support workforce education!
